The 1996 National JOB Seminar
sponsored by
Job Opportunities for the Blind (JOB)
NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND
Saturday, June 29, 1-4 pm
Anaheim Hilton (CA).
Join us for fact-filled explanations of job-seeking and on-
the-job techniques used by successfully employed blind Americans
in a mix of interesting jobs. We'll share what worked, and what
didn't. Additional seminar features include: "Transition Tips
for Low Vision Employees Who Are Losing More Sight," "Transition
Ideas for Blind Teens," and, "Tips for Independent Travel From a
Lost-In-Space Veteran." (Past seminars free on cassette from
JOB.) Come listen to the real experts, meet our speakers, and
ask them the questions you have always wanted to ask. As always,
JOB seminars are FREE.
J-O-B is short for JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE BLIND, a free,
nationwide program, sponsored by the National Federation of the
Blind (NFB) in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor. We
publish the JOB Recorded Bulletin (the only recorded job magazine
in the U.S.), and make available over 40 other publications for
job-seekers. Ask for a free JOB Sample Pack or the educational
ADA Series for employers. Call: 800-638-7518, (12:30 - 5 p.m.
EST) or write: JOB/NFB, 1800 Johnson Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.

JOB NETWORKING AT CONVENTION
The annual convention of the National Federation of the
Blind (NFB) has above 2,500 persons in attendance, most of them
blind. This may be your best chance all year to meet blind
persons working (or looking for work) in the same field that
interests you. Professional job developers, teachers, or
counselors with blind clients, are invited to come network to
find more data for the people they serve. In addition to
attending the professional seminars of the blind teachers, blind
lawyers, and more, join the informal JOB Networking Breakfasts.
All JOB Networking Breakfasts begin at 7 a.m. in "The
Oasis," the main restaurant of the Anaheim Hilton, and are BYOB
(Buy Your Own Breakfast). People with the same interests are
seated family style with a coordinator who is an expert in the
topic. Reservations are helpful but not required. A full list

Braille. Here is the list to date:
